Nice Filter Sep 03, 2011
By Quin I have used Fram & WIX filters for around 30 years. If you read the facts on these filters at various web sites you will find an on-going argument that will never end. You should also see that the WIX filter media is fiberglass vs Fram which is paper. The media in square inches is also larger on the WIX vs the Fram and that should relate to less back presure on the WIX. Now, with all that said, as an engineer, the WIX should be superior based on just those two simple facts. In my personal 30 year experience with several Jeeps, Trans Ams, and other vehicles, I have NEVER had a problem with a Fram filter. The WIX is a little more expensive and I have bought these for winter oil changes thinking that this back presure advantage would be better trying to push cold thick oil during Indiana winters. The thing I have always loved on the Fram filters is the Easy Grip junk they put on them to make getting a hold of the thing. So, for these reasons I stock both types in my garage for our two jeeps. Both are V8s one with 51,000 and the other with 240,000 miles. Both run great with no smoke.

Best filter per cost!!! Aug 24, 2010
By Ronald J. Lacross Jr. Why spend over $10 WIX, WIX is a cellulose and Synthetic filtering media that filters up to 10-12 microns with 45% more capacity. With Full synthetic filter can go 7500miles or 6 months. I personally use Valvoline Synpower(5w30) with WIX and change oil once a year and change my WIX filter twice.
There is only one oil and filter in my opinion better but cost 2 to 3 times more. Amsoil and Amsoil EA filters, combo works for 1 year or 25,000miles.
Just see for yourself video's of disassembly of oil filters.

Oil analysis comes up clean Jan 01, 2012
By Scott Dayman After reading the great reviews, I've been using WIX filters for a few years. I have Blackstone analyze my oil after every change and they've have had no issues with particulate levels in my oil samples.
A good oil filter and good price Oct 12, 2011
By Chris When it comes to oil filters for my jeep i will generally use anything but Fram which becomes an issue because Fram is the only filter they sell at my local Walmart where i get my oil so i have begun purchasing my filters online and combining them with other orders to receive free shipping. For $7.50 this Wix filter is cheaper than most other "high end" filters such as Mobil 1 or K&N. I do not know if this filter is any better than the others but through research i have found many people believe Wix filters are the best you can buy and thats enough for me to keep using them.
