Failed after 1.5 years, "lifetime warranty" bogus Oct 18, 2011
By Adam Davenport I bought these plugs to fix a "random misfire" code in my '99 Volkswagen Jetta GLS 2.0 AEG. The car ran great for about a year and a half, and then started skipping again. I poured well over a thousand dollars into other parts thinking that there's no chance the plug wires could have gone bad so fast. I eventually gave up, took it to a mechanic, he insisted it was the plug wires, and so I let him replace them. The car has been running great ever since.
He gave me back my bosch plugs, and I called Amazon to redeem the "no hassle" lifetime guarantee. Amazon asked me to contact bosch. ...so I tried--three times--each time leaving a message with a machine or a person. I finally called back Amazon, who refused to help since it had been longer than a year, despite my complaints that I'd tried bosch three times. FINALLY, I got through to a bosch guy who gave me an address to send my plugs to.
Days later, I received the original broken plugs in the mail, with a piece of paper with fine print for the warranty. Highlighted on that paper was the requirement to replace my bosch plugs with bosch plugs in order to get a refund. Why on earth would I buy the same brand that only lasted me 1.5 years before? ...and after all this, what the heck could "no hassle" possibly mean?!
If I were you, I'd avoid these, even if it means spending more for a different brand.
