Taurus front wheel hub assembly Nov 23, 2011

Great quality bearing for an unbeatable price. The chain auto parts stores had a no name brand bearling for about the same price so I couldn't pass up on this deal for a Timken product. Also got this with free shipping so it was a deal all the way around. Installation was a bear but only because the old part was corroded/seized in place which is common with the dissimilar metals used on the old Taurus front ends but this new hub was a perfect fit. I would highly recomend this to anyone who needs new bearings.

The part looks nice and shiny in the box. Just put it on my taurus with ~120k mileage last week. So far so good. Will update if anything happens.
Front bearing - hub assembly for Taurus May 20, 2011

My Taurus has 160,000 miles and the original front bearings finally wore out. The bearing isn't pressed in, its an entire hub assembly, lug bolts and all, but you have to dismount the strut and all steering parts to get it off. I took it to Meineke and they gladly used my part (saving me $150) and just charged me labor.
My car is VERY quiet and smooth now! I never pinned this as the bearing but when I would back out of the garage and turn sharply it would sound like a ball-pein hammer hitting somewhere underneath when I switched to drive and pulled forward. The old bearing was allowing the wheel to slide out about 1/8 inch! I knew a bearing was going out when I began to hear it then a few days later feel it in the steering wheel.
This bearing drastically changed the feel of my 97 Taurus. I'm very happy. I hope I get 150,000 miles from this one!

Exactly as described, will never buy Bearings at the auto parts store again. Have even been plugging Amazon to the guy in our area who fixes cars and he has been spreading the word! Saved about 50% purchasing them here! (been installed for close to a year now, of course still working great!)
