Monroe SC2928 Magnum Steering Damper Aug 25, 2010

Monroe SC2928 Magnum Steering Damper
This was for a Jeep Wrangler. It replaced the wimpy one that came from the factory. I have a lifted Jeep with larger tires and experienced some wandering while driving. However, once I installed this damper it drove like stock!
I even painted it to match the shocks and springs on the lift kit. I recommend this for a factory upgrade.

More than enough on my wife's XJ Dec 09, 2011
By B. Spiegel Used it on my wife's stock Jeep Cherokee (XJ) install was stupid simple, and took about 15 min. Steering is a bit stiffer, as this is the HD one but that is fine. Planning on running one on my jeep as well, should handle larger tires just fine.
A note: these are not a solution for a wobble induced after installing lifts (Death Wobble) hit up jeepforum . com to learn the real fixes for it... these will just mask and wear out!

Nice Heavy Duty Steering Damper Apr 25, 2011
By BlackSCRunner This is a beefy replacement for the stock steering damper on your TJ Jeep Wrangler. From what I understand it is the same unit many lift kit companies use and just put their name on it. I can't verify this, but it looks beefy and well built and is a welcome improvement over the flimsy factory damper. It also costs about half of the name brand lift kit models from various companies. I don't think you can go wrong!

Monroe Steering Damper 2004 Jeep Wrangler X Jan 06, 2011
By JoyRide Sportfishing Installed this damper on a friend's Jeep since the old one's bushings were junk. This replacement steering damper fit perfect (albeit I replaced one worn bolt with a grade 8) and it took care of the slight wobble the Jeep was experiencing. Good price. Good product. Monroe has always had a decent product line.
Did what it supposed to do Jan 03, 2012
By Robert Hattala Bought this for my 1997 Jeep Wrangler to replace what looked to be the original. I have 31 inch tires and I did notice some improvement in my steering but nothing crazy. But i would recommend this product to someone who wants a well build good quality steering damper at a good price.
