Good product - good price Jul 06, 2008

I had no problem replacing the old idler. The new Gates idler works fine. Best price anywhere.
Wrong Part Feb 04, 2012
By BT The Amazon fitment guide said a 38006 was correct for a 2005 Acura TL. Well it's not. The diameter is correct but there is a special recess on the oem part that is required for the mounting washer to fit correctly. There is no recess on the Gates/Amazon cross.

On the Ranger this is the tensioner pulley, not idler pulley Nov 24, 2009
By F. Sevier I have a 99 Ford Ranger 3.0L. I wanted to replace the serpentine belt and all pulleys and tensioner. I ordered the 38114 tensioner with pulley and the 38006, which Amazon lists as the idler pulley. It is not. The 38006 is the roughly 3" diameter pulley that goes on the tensioner. (So I got a tensioner and two tensioner pulleys in my order. One pulley was already assembled on the tensioner.) The idler pulley for a Ranger is about 3.5" in diameter. According to the Gates web site, the idler pulley for my truck is the 38001... but if you look it up on Amazon it says the 38001 does not fit (which is wrong). I returned the 38006 to Amazon and went to my local NAPA and asked for the idler pulley, they sold me a 38001 which matches what's on my truck exactly. So if you are going to change all pulleys and the tensioner on a 3.0L Ranger you need to order a 38114 and 38001.
