Gates belt tensioner for Pontiac Vibe Aug 26, 2011
By Vinnie This part is functional equivalent. The only reason I say is functional equivalent is the bushing where the tensioner pivots is reverse of the OEM tensioner. At first I thought this may be an issue with alignment of tensioner pulley and other pulleys but that is not the case. The bushing is a plastic/compposite material OEM part was metal. Tensioner works as advertised and pulley alignment is like original. Part appears to be of high quality. Have only used for a week and about 400 miles, I will update review if any issues.
Matrix, Vibe, Corolla owners........ Mar 17, 2011

I bought this for my 2005 toyota matrix. these go out commonly on the small toyota engines. The dealer wanted over $180 just for the part and three hundred something for part and labor. I got it installed for a few bucks and the car runs great. Dont hesitate to buy this. Gates invented the belt system for cars so this stuff is quality made and solid.

Just what the doctor ordered.... May 10, 2010
By Avid Do-it-Yourselfer Arrived quickly and fit my 2004 Pontiac Vibe with no issues. It eliminated the noise I was having at start-up which was due to the original leaking shock/spring part of the assembly.
