5Sexiest Wipers Ever! Passenger's Side  Dec 24, 2007
By Stephen Davis "Monsignor"
Yes I said SEXIEST ever....

It was time again to put new wipers on my 2002 Ford F-250. IN my relentless search for all things cool I happened upon these Bosch wiper blades here on Amazon.com. After reading some of the reviews I decided to take the plunge and order up a set (after all you need a matched set - right?). Again these wipers were listed on Amazon PRIME so after a dash of technical wizardry the wipers appeared at my office from the friendly UPS man.

I eagerly tore into the box to discover the wipers there, nicely packaged and looking pretty and just yearning to be mounted on my truck.

When I got home that evening I opened-up my garage and hauled out my ladder to make the wiper swap (seeing as how my truck is VERY lifted I have to use a ladder for 'ordinary' maintenance items such as wipers, oil changes, etc.). The instructions on changing out the wipers are easy to follow and straight forward. Actually the most difficult part of this whole operation was getting the OLD wipers off of my truck.

Once the old wipers were off the new ones mount up with ease. All you need to do is to squeeze the Bosch wipers at the hatch markings on the side. This opens up the catch allowing your wiper arms to thread through the opening and mate up with the catch on the blade. If seated properly (there is only one way to put them on) the top piece will easily close over the arm locking the arm and wipers into place. In a stiff cross-breeze with gloves on the mounting of the new blades took all of 45 seconds at the most.

Once mounted I decided to "test drive" the wipers. I drove up and down a road close to our house checking for uplift or to see if they chattered or moved around while they were in operation and while they were in motion. The Bosch wipers made fast work cleaning my windshield (water) and did not streak or lose contact with the glass surface.

Another note that is pretty cool - the wipers, when stationary proudly display the BOSCH 'logo' on the wipers - kind of black on black. Very cool and classy looking.

A final note - the wipers are very clean looking. Gone is the exoskeletal suspension system we are all used to seeing on those 'other' wipers out there. These are VERY unusual yet elegant looking.

I give these blades a very enthusiastic THUMBS UP. Give them a try - buck traditional blades!

**** UPDATE **** July 22, 2010 ****
Well the time has finally come to replace these wipers. Part of the rubber blade that is in constant contact with my windshield has started to separate from the rest of the wiper body. I will say that I am completely satisfied with the wipers and their longevity... and have just ordered another set from Amazon!! These wipers are a great value and worth the money. These last MUCH longer than the wipers you see at auto parts stores. To give you an idea - traditional wipers last me about 12-16 months.

That said these wipers will have lasted me 953 days from installation to re-installation (that's 2 years, 7 months and 10 days)! To further recap - I live N of Dallas, TX where we have extremely hot summers and cold winters (this past winter we had a BUNCH of snow) and these wipers performed flawlessly in all weather.

5Where the rubber meets the road  Oct 19, 2007
By Rosemary Thornton "Niece of Addie Hoyt Fargo (age 29)"
For more than 30 years, I've searched high and low for the perfect wiper blade. Being a little tiny bit obsessive about my car, one of the things I can NOT tolerate is a chattering, noisy, smeary, streaky wiper blade. Driving in the rain is hard enough without feeling like you're trying to look through a wax-paper windshield.

In the past, I'd put new wiper blades on my car two or three times a year and sometimes more, just to make sure I never had to deal with wiper smear or worse, wiper chatter. That sound is like fingernails on a blackboard to me!!

I'd also clean the rubber edge several times between blade changes, to keep the leading edge clean and free from debris and gooey tree gunk and junk. Due to my desire to keep the finest quality blades on the car, I'd only buy authentic Toyota blades for my 2003 Camry and then one day...

An associate at the local Toyota dealer talked me into buying the rubber inserts for the blades, rather than the whole blade assembly. For 20 minutes, I waited and watched as she fiddled around trying desperately to get the inserts into the arm assembly. Two days later (and 10 minutes of use later), while driving in a light rain storm, the whole thing came apart in pieces, scratching my windshield in the process. It was a Sunday afternoon (dealer was closed), so I drove directly to the auto parts store and told them I wanted the most expensive wiper-blade they sold. They took me to the Bosch Icon and said, "these are the best, but they're pricey."

These blades have been on my car for three months and I think I have found the perfect wiper blade. They're quiet, chatter-free and each swipe of the blade is more like a squeegee has just moved across the glass. Every now and then a little piece of debris gets under the blade, but two or three passes later, and we're back to clean swipes.

I couldn't be more pleased with the quality and performance of this product. The two blades I bought for Cammie cost less than $50 which isn't THAT much contrasted against the frustration of not being able to see clearly through the windshield when it rains.

I will never again buy another brand of wiper blade. The Bosch Icon wipes and swipes cleanly and perfectly each time. And above all, it's quiet! The only downside is that they are funny looking. But that's a small problem contrasted against the great joy of having a good quality wiper.

5Best blades I've ever bought  Feb 14, 2008
By K. J. Ackermann
The stock blades on my Infiniti FX 35 squeaked and shuddered back and forth on the windshield literally from the day I drove the car off the showroom floor. While on line reading an Infiniti forum other FXers wrote about the same problem. They recommended these blades. I got on Amazon.com and read the customer reviews. All raved about these blades. I bought a pair, installed easily in less than 5 minutes. Work great. Glad I bought'em and recommend you do the same. I'll be buying another pair for my wife's car.

5A great wiper, finally!!!  Mar 26, 2008
By R. Benoit
Not only does the Bosch Icon wiper do the job, it does it well, and quietly! After spending more money last year for a different set of "premium" wipers, I thought the more I spent, the better. Not necessarily. Those were excellent wipers as far as clearing the windshield but they were so noisy, we hated using them! I finally broke down and decided to try these Bosch Icons since they're rated to be quieter than most and high quality. They are slightly more expensive than cheaper brands at your local department store, but if you buy them from Amazon, you'll be quite pleased with the value, quality and the quiet operation - now we don't even hear that they're on!

3Made in China  Nov 18, 2011
By Dire_Wolf
The latest batch of these blades are now made in China. There is a defiant quality difference from when they used to be made in Germany.
